Wayne Niehaus has been involved with home medical equipment in Freeport for more than 15 years. His experience has primarily been in customer service, as a liaison to physician’s offices and other referral sources, as well as all aspects of billing.
Wayne is the “go to” person for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance guidelines and policies. He is also well versed with HCPCS and ICD-9 coding. In addition, he is responsible for all aspects of patient intake, qualifying patients for equipment, and insurance verification.
A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Wayne earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in computer science and a minor in math. Prior to joining FHME in May of 2006, Niehaus was associated with Apria Healthcare and its predecessor company, Garrity Home Care, Inc.
Knowledgeable about all areas of durable medical equipment, Wayne is often on call for after-hours emergencies and equipment deliveries.
Born and raised in Mt. Olive, south of Springfield, Illinois, Wayne came to Freeport in 1991. He is a member of the church council at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pearl City. When he is not working, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
