Jackson (Jack) Bowen likes new experiences and is enjoying learning about the durable medical equipment industry. “I like to meet different people,” he says, “and, having a chance to make a difference.”
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Jack was stationed in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Being an Aircraft Armament Systems technician; his work involved the installation, configuration changes, repair, and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components. His duties also encompassed the loading of aircraft munitions, and aiding the flight crews during refueling and takeoff. He also assisted in the deployment of 16 F-177A Stealth Fighter aircraft to Operation Iraqi Freedom. In this exacting work, Jack honed his mechanical and technical skills, as well as learning the importance of relentless attention to detail. During this time he began his college education at the Community College of the Air Force and New Mexico State University majoring in Sociology.
After his honorable discharge, Jackson accepted a position as a freight train conductor with the Canadian Pacific Railway in St. Paul, Minnesota. He worked mainly on road trains, working in conjunction with the train engineer to ensure the safety of the cargo and servicing industries from St. Paul to Portage, WI. While not on the road, he worked at the depot in St. Paul working as a switchman.
Born and raised in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Jackson moved to the Chicago area as a senior in high school. In 2008, he returned to the area to complete course work at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn where he graduated in 2010 with an Associate Degree in Pre-Architecture/Design.
Jack enjoys spending time playing golf and skiing – two sports he has enjoyed all of his life. He also is an avid artist; from paintings, murals, drawings to designing computer graphics and webpages.
